Recruiting Process
The following is the step-by-step process of how we perform a given search:
Tell us about your company
Before we accept any search we need to learn about your company. We will hold an in-depth question and answer session to discuss the intricacies of your organization. In essence, we seek to discover the qualities of your organization that would attract a gainfully-employed candidate.
Develop Candidate Specifications
After we have a true understanding of your company, we will work with you and key members of your staff to define the skills, attributes, and talents of the person you seek. We will also develop a specification form that will outline all of those qualities we discussed. We will submit the form to you and require your approval before beginning a search. At that time, we will develop a search strategy of several relevant contacts with whom to speak. Our strategy is derived from the many contacts and relationships we have developed over the years.
The Search
The specialist in charge of your search will begin contacting individuals in our vast network throughout the industry. A managing partner will hold weekly meetings with each recruiter to evaluate the progress of the search. We recruit specifically for your company.
Candidate Selection and Evaluation
Once we have successfully located and recruited those individuals in line with your predetermined specifications, we will begin a more in-depth evaluation of each candidate. The executive search manager will determine genuine interest, reason for leaving, salary requirements and family motivations. We will conduct informal reference checks and a minimum of two (2) formal reference checks on the candidate. We can also provide a psychological testing profile on each candidate upon request.
Presentation
Once the top candidates have been selected we will present them to you. You will receive a comprehensive report on each candidate presented. This report will include: detailed job history, education, personal information, as well as your search consultant's evaluation of the personality traits, candidate's "hot buttons", career objectives, and any other pertinent information that would be helpful to you.
The Interview
We will assist you in coordinating all interviews, transportation, lodging, and any other logistical issues. We will prep the candidate on what information he/she will need to provide for the meeting. We will also participate in any interview meetings with candidates to the degree that you desire.
Post-Interview Evaluation
After each interview has taken place, we follow up with both the client and candidate to answer any questions, and to determine what the next step will be. We will assist you in evaluating the results of those interviews. We will provide you with candidate feedback, and help deal with any concerns you or the candidate may have.
The Offer & Resignation
Once you elect to make an offer to the candidate, we will assist you in negotiating the compensation package and reaching agreement on other issues necessary to hire the individual. Note: Over the years, we have found it advantageous to let us take the lead in bouncing the offer off the candidate before formally extending the offer.
Once the candidate has accepted the offer we will counsel them on the resignation process and help them resign professionally and gracefully. We will prepare the candidate for the counteroffer as well. Once the candidate has started, we will follow up throughout their first year to ensure the transition continues as smoothly as possible.
